As “The Mindy Project” begins its second season, the forecast calls for New York to be hotter than Haiti. Why? Because when Mindy comes back from her volunteer work in the tropical nation, she finds a new doctor in her old office: James Franco. The Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee is one of Hollywood’s hottest properties, so what’s he doing on “The Mindy Project”? Well, as it turns out, Mindy Kaling and James Franco have plenty of mutual friends, and when they both appeared in “This Is The End,” that was just the beginning of a working relationship between the two.
