Mike Judge’s “Office Space” might be one of the most unlikely hit films of all time.
Its distributor, 20th Century Fox, had so little faith in the film, they released it in the doldrums of February, where films often go to quietly die. Little did they know that the film would develop a following – more than cult, but not quite mainstream – that would continue to enthusiastically watch it almost 16 years later.
Jennifer Aniston, who starred in “Office Space” along with Ron Livingston and Gary Cole, made the movie as a fun little diversion during the summer break from her day job on “Friends.” When we spoke to her, she remembered it as a great experience, especially since she’d wanted to work with Judge. (But she didn’t keep her flair!)
Aniston’s next movie also carries a bit of a workplace theme: “Horrible Bosses 2” opens on November 26.
