CHRIS EVANS’ COMICAL CAREER IN GOOD HANDS WITH MARVEL

If Chris Evans wasn’t a comic book fan when he was a kid, he sure must be now.  He’s been collecting some larger-than-life paychecks for portraying larger-than-life superhero characters that originated on pulpy newsprint pages:  He’s played “The Fantastic Four’s” Human Torch twice and Captain America in five movies, including the “Avengers” sequel, “Age of Ultron,” that started filming last month.

Every actor knows there are two inherent dangers to playing a comic book superhero: 1) Falling into a typecasting trap, and 2) Upsetting comic book fans who don’t think you can fill the character’s super shoes.  But so far, both audiences and critics have given Evans the thumbs-up for his portrayal of Captain America, and he gives a lot of the credit to Marvel for producing movies that will meet (or exceed) fans’ expectations.
